Mazinger Z originally aired in japan from 1972 until 1975, in other countries it aired from the late 70's until the mid 80's. Those of us who grew up watching Mazinger Z episodes can remember the feelings of exitement that series stirred in us.
Mazinger Z is a very well thought out series, it has action,drama, romance, well you name it Mazinger has it. There are some very complex charachters in the series which i will try to explain.
Koji Kabuto- grandson of Mazingers' creator, he is also the robot's pilot
Dr.Yumi- Head of the research lab, source of the Photoatomic Energy
Sayaka- Dr. Yumis's Daughter, pilot of AFRODAI- A
Boss- Big Bully, Koji's friend, and pilot of Boss Robot, comic elemente in the story
Dr.Hell- Evil Villain, wants to rule the world with an army of ancient robots, but Mazinger Z always messes up his plans. wants to steal the superalloy Z to make a robot of his own to defeat Mazinger.
Baron Ashler- Half man, half woman, Dr. Hell's ally, also wants to defeat Mazinger
Count Decapito- Dr. Hell's ally, his head is not attached to his body and is always rolling around the floor, he hates Baron Ashler's guts and always wants to outdo him, but is very clumsy.
